Thomson House Free School, Richmond, required extra teaching facilities to accommodate for the growing need for space in the education sector. Module-AR Limited were awarded the contract to provide a full Turnkey solution including the design, supply & manufacture of an 18 bay, 2 storey modular classroom accommodation and associated foundations.
The 6 No. Classroom building is externally clad in a combination of Brickslip and Render to match the existing nearby buildings. Additionally, a curtain wall window system was fitted to the Western elevation creating a naturally bright and light interior. A Roof Mansafe system with access hatch & ladder for access from inside the school, an external steel staircase, double-glazed UPVC windows, standalone fire alarm & intruder alarm systems, lightning protection system installation and a Smart Wall thermally broken entrance door to enhance thermal performance complete the exterior of the structure.
Inside the school building features Polysafe standard vinyl flooring to wet areas & Gradus Predator Heavy Duty carpet tiles to the rest of the building. Heat & Cool air conditioning, a 2.4m internal ceiling height, a DDA Compliant passenger lift, PIR lighting and Solar blinds to all classroom windows for improved sustainability complete the interior design features.
Both floors of Thomson House Free School are identical and feature a full-length corridor with a staircase to both floors, 3 No. Classrooms (fitted with interactive whiteboards, shelving, noticeboards, hat & coat hooks, sinks and worktops), a DDA Compliant Platform Lift, Store rooms, Electrical Cupboards and WC's.
The 2 storey building was delivered & installed in 3 days (2 of which were on a weekend), greatly reducing site traffic & disturbance to the school and surrounding neighbourhood compared to traditional construction methods. In total Module-AR Limited required just 17 weeks to fully complete the Turnkey solution.<< Back to Education Case Studies
