Case Study: Western Power Distribution - Hereford
- Client - Western Power
- Project size - 737m²
- Completion - 8 weeks
- Temporary Office & Welfare Accommodation
- Meeting rooms, various Offices, Conference room, Telecoms IR space, Mess facility and more
The Western Power Hereford site required temporary office and welfare accommodation for their staff to use for 18 months. The 24 No. module project with a footprint of over 730m² was awarded to Module-AR Limited due to our experience in the Utilities, Waste & Petrochemical market sector and our enviable reputation of providing first class customer service.
The structure is built with a large Office of 106m², a Meeting room, Conference room, fitted with an internal acoustic folding partition wall, a Telecoms IR space, Archive room, Staff Mess room, Locker room, General store, Tool store, Equipment store, Live Test store, Ladder/Harness store, a large 140m² internal Stores area and WC's.
The Kitchen, WC's & Store rooms were fitted with Polyflor Standard XL vinyl and all other rooms were fitted with carpet tiles for a traditional Office interior design. In the Locker room, 10 No. banks of 3 single lockers & bench seating were fitted. Heat & Cool air conditioning was installed throughout, cream vertical window blinds were fitted to each window and 5 No. internal double doors were fitted for the rooms joined to the Corridor.
Externally, the temporary Office accommodation features Plastisol (plastic coated steel) cladding, fascia and plinths, with UPVC lockable windows with restrictors. 2 No. entrance door canopies and a standalone fire alarm system were also installed.
The project was manufactured and completed in just 8 weeks allowing Western Power to accommodate the building as soon as possible. The staff at the Hereford location enjoyed the building so much that Western Power extended the Office & Welfare accommodation hire period by an additional 12 months once their initial hire contract came to an end; and they even eventually purchased the building after the secondary hire period ended.
Words from the client
Nigel Sweet, Distribution Manager of Western Power Hereford, commented: "I would like to that you and your team for the design and installation of the Hereford building. It was carried out to very tight timescales and met all the deadlines.
We have been resident in the building for over two months now and find it very spacious and comfortable. The speed of delivery and erection was done to very tight timescales and ,once inside, you are not aware that is a portable type of building and it meets our immediate needs very well.
I would not hesitate to recommend your company to any future clients as our experience working with your company has been very satisfactory."<< Back to Utilities, Waste & Petrochemical Case Studies
