Module-AR Limited were awarded the contract, on behalf of Hertford Country Council, to design, manufacture and install 3 new school buildings - Galley Hill Primary School, Oxhey Wood Primary School and Walkern Primary School. Both Oxhey Wood and Walkern Primary Schools were designed with the same internal layout of 2 No. 60m² Classrooms, a 33m² Break-out area, staff & student WC's and 2 No. Store rooms. Galley Hill Primary School accommodated 4 No. Classrooms, associated WC's and Break-out area.
The Classrooms in each school were fitted with window blinds, white boards, large display boards, shelving and a circular glazed screen looking in to the Break-out area. The Break-out areas in each school were furnished with 4 more display boards, shelving units and 30 coats hat & pegs for the pupils.
The Secured by Design, Building Bulletin Compliant structures feature suspended ceilings, 3.5kN/m² floor loading, polysafe vinyl flooring for the wet areas and carpet tiles for all teaching rooms.
Externally, each building was clad in different multi-coloured Trespa walls with varying roof claddings to satisfy the planning conditions and to create a bright & aesthetically pleasing external finishes.
Manufacturing all 3 buildings, a total of 24 modules and over 770m² overall footprint, took Module-AR Limited just 6 weeks. Even more astoundingly, each School building took just 2 days to install on site, greatly minimising site traffic and reducing disruption to the existing school and local community. In total, just 18 weeks were required for Module-AR Limited to design, manufacture and install the 3 Schools which the client was extremely pleased with and allowed the Schools to start using their new buildings at the beginning of the new school term.<< Back to Education Case Studies
