- Project size - 200m²
- Completion - 12 weeks

- External 200m² Astro Turf Play Area
This modular building project entailed designing, manufacturing and installing a single-storey building consisting of 6 No. modules of 11m x 3m at Cherry Lane Primary School which Module-AR Limited were awarded the contract.
This modular building, for and on behalf of London Borough of Hillingdon Council, came to fruition due to the growing need for extra classroom space within the Borough. A full Turnkey modular solution was provided including groundworks, tree protection works, astro turf installation and an external canopy at Cherry Lane Primary School.
The building consisted of a double Classroom, accommodating 60 Primary School pupils, with vinyl flooring to the main classroom area and a dedicated carpet tiled "quiet area". Shared access WC's were accompanied by 2 No. Store rooms and a large Lobby containing hat & coat hooks. The Secured by Design structure included aluminium doors, aluminium windows with roller blinds, suspended ceilings and kitchen units for the classrooms as part of the interior décor.
Externally the schools modular building was clad in Cedar with a bespoke external 18m x 3m play area canopy, with padded post protection, installed to the front elevation allowing pupils a safe and sheltered play area to encourage outdoor learning. A BBA Accredited roof covering and 200m² astro turf play area were also installed to provide a stimulating external education environment.
In total, the project was completed within 12 weeks which allowed the school to begin using the facilities up to 50% sooner than if the project was constructed traditionally.
