  • Passenger waiting area, Ticket machines, Office & welfare facilities, secure ticket window, WC's and Baby change

The largest fully operational, modular building, Park & Ride, facility in Leeds at Temple Green, to further complement the existing facility, at Elland Road.

As with Elland Road, Temple Green is similar in design, boasting a feature clock tower, however, clad with Western Red Cedar wood, a fully heated passenger waiting area providing ticket machines and seating areas, WC’s, staff office, welfare facilities & a secure ticket window. The whole modular building consists of 6 no. Modules, totalling 132m2.

All the Park & Ride facilities, including the buses and routes, each have a distinct colour, to provide passengers with an easy, visual of destination routes. Temple Greens’ feature colour is a vibrant Orange, whilst Elland Road boasts bright Green.

This is the second of four park & ride facilities to date, which will play a vital role in the Transport Strategy for Leeds. This is the largest Park & Ride which accommodates 1000 car parking spaces. Park & Ride schemes will help to reduce the congestion and improve the city’s air quality so we are extremely pleased to be a chosen specialist contractor in this major transport strategy.

Words from the client

Councillor Richard Lewis, Leeds City Council’s executive board member for economy and development, said: “This scheme is both a milestone in the development of the Enterprise Zone and represents another step on the road to providing a network of park-and-ride sites across the city, easing congestion and cutting pollution in the centre.”

Network Rail - Stockport

Network Rail - Stockport

  • Client - Network Rail
  • Project size - 2,186m²
  • Completion - 14 weeks
  • 2 Storey Office & Welfare Facility
  • Part Cedar & Part Kingspan External Cladding

Module-AR Limited were granted the project to design a 2,186m², 2 storey, 64 No. module Office and Welfare facility for Network Rail. The structure was designed & built to accommodate 132 Office staff with Welfare facilities for 240 staff at their Stockport branch.

This purchase building was finished externally with Plastisol (plastic coated steel) which was bonded to 9mm WBP exterior grade plywood. The plywood panel was fitted to a timber frame to form a stressed skin construction. The part Cedar and part Kingspan cladding chosen by Network Rail creates a modern & aesthetically pleasing structure.

The external windows of the Network Rail Stockport building are thermally broken PC Aluminium frames incorporating laminated & toughened glass, fitted with Trickle Vents to provide background ventilation. All windows can be opened and cleaned from the inside of the building, reducing the risk of falls from ladders as associated with external cleaning methods. The external doors of the building are manufactured from double skinned 1.2mm Zintec steel with interlocking seams and reinforced interlocking channels & tubes to prevent twisting.

The interior of the building was designed to meet Network Rail corporate DNA. This generates a creative and productive environment that is a pleasure to work in. On the ground floor of the fully Heat & Cool air conditioned building is a Briefing room, Meeting room, Archive room, with an enhanced 5kN/m² floor loading, 4 No. Offices, a large 216m² Refectory (with dishwashers, sinks, fridges & seating accommodation), a Store room, Switch room, male & female WC's and shower facilities, a 135m² Drying room, a 135m² Locker room, a Lobby with Reception area and a Security room. 2 No. corridors with stairwells and a DDA Compliant lift were installed to take employees to the first floor of the structure. The first floor features a huge 665m² open plan Office, 5 No. additional Meeting rooms, a Communications room, open plan fully-fitted Kitchen/Dining area, Casual Meeting space and male & females WC's.

In total the project was designed, manufactured and installed in just 14 weeks with dramatically reduced on site traffic and site disruption. This was extremely important to Network Rail as the building is situated next to a live railway.
