Module-AR Limited are Achilles RISQS Accredited and we have a wealth of experience working with the Rail sector to provide modular solutions for a variety of needs.
We have worked on a range of projects including, but not limited to:
Our single, double or multi-storey buildings are constructed in our state of the art factory to minimise on-site disruption. The variety of external claddings & internal finishes we can provide allow your building to be as functional and aesthetically pleasing as possible. Take a look through our selection of Rail projects below and get in touch if you require a Module-AR Limited temporary or permanent building solution.
Module-AR Limited were granted the project to design a 2,186m², 2 storey, 64 No. module Office and Welfare facility for Network Rail. The structure was designed & built to accommodate 132 Office staff with Welfare facilities for 240 staff at their Stockport branch.
This purchase building was finished externally with Plastisol (plastic coated steel) which was bonded to 9mm WBP exterior grade plywood. The plywood panel was fitted to a timber frame to form a stressed skin construction. The part Cedar and part Kingspan cladding chosen by Network Rail creates a modern & aesthetically pleasing structure.
The external windows of the Network Rail Stockport building are thermally broken PC Aluminium frames incorporating laminated & toughened glass, fitted with Trickle Vents to provide background ventilation. All windows can be opened and cleaned from the inside of the building, reducing the risk of falls from ladders as associated with external cleaning methods. The external doors of the building are manufactured from double skinned 1.2mm Zintec steel with interlocking seams and reinforced interlocking channels & tubes to prevent twisting.
The interior of the building was designed to meet Network Rail corporate DNA. This generates a creative and productive environment that is a pleasure to work in. On the ground floor of the fully Heat & Cool air conditioned building is a Briefing room, Meeting room, Archive room, with an enhanced 5kN/m² floor loading, 4 No. Offices, a large 216m² Refectory (with dishwashers, sinks, fridges & seating accommodation), a Store room, Switch room, male & female WC's and shower facilities, a 135m² Drying room, a 135m² Locker room, a Lobby with Reception area and a Security room. 2 No. corridors with stairwells and a DDA Compliant lift were installed to take employees to the first floor of the structure. The first floor features a huge 665m² open plan Office, 5 No. additional Meeting rooms, a Communications room, open plan fully-fitted Kitchen/Dining area, Casual Meeting space and male & females WC's.
In total the project was designed, manufactured and installed in just 14 weeks with dramatically reduced on site traffic and site disruption. This was extremely important to Network Rail as the building is situated next to a live railway.
Module-AR Limited is Achilles RISQS Accredited and were awarded this very competitive contract to design, manufacture and install 23 No. modules to be used as a single-storey welfare facility for the Network Rail Bristol branch. Meeting rooms, various Offices, a fully-furnished Kitchen, Welfare facilities, Store rooms and an Archive room were included in the design.
Due to budget constraints, the Bristol building was clad with Plastisol (plastic coated steel) for a durable and cost-effective exterior. The interior however was expertly designed and fitted out to match Network Rail's stringent DNA internal specification. Brightly coloured Kitchen & Office facilities promote a creative and productive environment, the interior furniture is of a high quality to ensure a happy workforce and large interior windows make the building light, spacious and a pleasure to work in.
The modules were delivered in just 1 day to reduce on-site traffic and the total project was completed in 11 weeks. This is up to 50% quicker than if the project was completed traditionally, due to the inherent speed of off-site construction.
Stephen Clark, Property Works Coordinator for the Western area of Network Rail, comments: "Module-AR's delivery of this competitively awarded project has been handled in a very professional manor both pre and post contract. The communication, organisation and planning for the installation was first class. The installation did not create any disruption to the ongoing operation of the site and was completed within programme even though additional enabling works were added to the scheme. It's also worth mentioning that Health and Safety has been considered of extreme importance from start to finish by your team. We are very pleased with the high quality of the building and attention to detail to achieve the Network Rail DNA internal specification. In summary, Module-AR's performance on this project has been first class and we thank you for your good service."
Module-AR Limited is Achilles RISQS Accredited and vastly experienced in the Rail Sector. As a result, we were awarded the contract from Network Rail to provide a new 2 storey Maintenance Delivery Unit and a new 2 storey Portal Framed Stores building for their Slough location. The 583m² MDU Facility consisted of 18 No. modular bays and the 256m² Stores Building was constructed of 12 No. modules. Both buildings were designed and built to comply with Network Rail DNA Standards & Building Regulations and feature Plastisol (plastic coated steel) external walls, trims, fascia & plinths for a maintenance-free, secure and robust exterior.
The full Turnkey solution was provided by Module-AR Limited which included the Design and Installation of Foundations, a concrete raft to the Stores Building, DDA ramps and steps, a new Tarmac car park and white lining, new palisade fencing with secure main entrance gates fitted with an ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition), new flood lighting and CCTV to the Car Parking Area.
The Slough Stores Building is a 2 storey structure. The ground floor consists of a Warehouse with rows of 'Link 51' Longspan shelving & Palisade secure fencing, an S&T Tool Locker room, 3 No. caged & secure Store rooms and a Plant Store room. A forklift area was also installed which included a platform lift to enable staff to move equipment from the ground to first floor and vice versa.
The first floor of the facility, which includes a Mezzanine floor load design of 5kN/m² in the walkway, features a large open-plan Warehouse consisting of more rows of 'Link 51' Longspan shelves and caged Store rooms.
The MDU Facility, which Module-AR Limited also installed, is a 2 storey structure. On the Ground floor features a Kitchen/Mess Area of 75m², Technical rooms, Cleaner room, Smart Control rooms, a large Locker room with separate Drying room (each fitted with lockers), WC's and a Lobby with stairwell to the first floor.
The first floor consists of 2 No. Meeting rooms, an IT room, Break Out room and a large 142m² open plan Office furnished with tables, chairs and ICT equipment.
Module-AR Limited delivered & installed the Network Rail Slough buildings in just 2 days which greatly minimised site traffic & disturbance. This was of great importance to Network Rail due to their service being in operation 24 hours a day. In total the project was designed, manufactured and installed in 24 weeks which is up to 50% faster than a traditional construction.
Clive Whitfield, Programme Manager at Network Rail Slough, commented that the advice, facilitation, communication, completion of works to programme, value for money & overall performance were all good and he would use Module-AR to undertake similar work in the future.
